( BW)(SPIRIT-DSP) Korea Telecom licenses SPIRIT Voice&Video Engine PC;
For its Next Generation Multiplatform Value-adding IP-based Services

    Technology Editors

    MOSCOW--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 2008--SPIRIT DSP, the world's
leading provider of voice and video software engines, announced today
that Korea Telecom (KT), Korea's top integrated wired/wireless
communications service provider, has licensed SPIRIT's carrier-grade
TeamSpirit(R) 3.0 Voice&Video Engine PC to ensure high quality voice
and video in their next generation value-adding IP-based services.

IDC Korea valued the local VoIP market at about $251 million last
year with the expected annual growth over 50 percent for the next five
years reaching $1.5 billion by 2011. Targeting the quickly growing
Korean VoIP market and striving to achieve customer satisfaction with
innovative services, KT is evolving their network infrastructure into
an all-IP environment and launches their own IP-based services - SoIP
(Services Over Internet Protocol). SoIP is to become a high-end
lifestyle system that integrates VoIP and multimedia allowing
customers to enjoy a variety of customizable interactive services.

Carrier-grade TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine with its highest
quality and easy multiplatform integration will contribute to KT
innovative solutions targeted to retain 20 million fixed-line and
Internet-based telephony customers. Last year KT chose TeamSpirit
Engine PC for the trial run on their new multi-service terminals. Now
KT confirms their assurance in the highest quality of the selected
solution recognizing SPIRIT's Voice&Video Engine as the most cutting
edge technology for multimedia communication services.

"Convergence of Internet and traditional telecom industries has
already become an irreversible trend and one of the key driving forces
for future innovations reflecting the fast changing customers' needs,"
said Dongsik Yun, VP of Window Platform Department at Korea Telecom.
"KT's answer to this innovation challenge is the re-definition of our
services to SoIP aimed to accelerate market growth and to deliver rich
multimedia experience for our customers. To satisfy rising
subscribers' needs for various services on different platforms we
confidently chose SPIRIT's Engines, a rich carrier-grade multiplatform
solution. SPIRIT's Engines secure high quality voice and video for our
customers on a broad range of terminal devices and as a result enhance
their overall loyalty."

Ready for immediate licensing, TeamSpirit 3.0 Voice&Video Engine
PC is a complete, carrier-grade pre-integrated voice and video over IP
(V2oIP) processing solution that provides superior speech and picture
quality combined with reliable performance in a broad range of
PC-based communication applications. The TeamSpirit Engine includes
SPIRIT's proprietary patent-free IP-MR(TM) codec that is specifically
optimized for voice transmission over IP networks and robust to packet
loss. Thanks to unique proprietary technologies, TeamSpirit
successfully solves all issues encountered in video over IP
communications (packet loss, delay, jitter, synchronization losses,
etc.). An extended set of multimedia features makes TeamSpirit an
ideal choice for emerging IMS platforms supporting 3gp video sharing,
playback and recording, push-to-talk. TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine is
available on Windows, Mac, Linux platforms and supports different call
scenarios: pc2pc calling, pc2pstn calling and ad-hoc conferencing.

"Asia Pacific is known for its fast and massive adoption of
next-generation communication services. We are delighted to constantly
strengthen our positions in the region and see each successful project
as a validation of the advances and maturity of SPIRIT's technology,"
stated Alex Kravchenko, VP Sales of SPIRIT. "Innovate or die - to keep
pace with today's highly competitive market and subscribers' fast
changing preferences, every carrier seeks the most efficient and the
same fast ways to develop, create, deliver and replace innovative
services. Korea Telecom is now making a resolute move into voice and
video over IP. After successes with AT&T, British Telecom, France
Telecom as well as with a number of other Tier 1 global industry
leaders, we have no doubt that SPIRIT's multiplatform, carrier-grade,
multimedia Engines are the best choice for Unified Communication
services, requiring seamless, cross-platform integration, high
efficiency of CPU power utilization and quick time-to-market."
